Snapshot Bio: 150 words

Matthew Elderton-Lewis is an award-winning composer from Essex, whose work has been described as unapologetically cheeky and “a way of exploring feeling, questions, tensions and things that maybe can’t find a way to be expressed neatly in language” (TWP). His work has been performed and featured by Essex Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Phacelia Ensemble, Riot Ensemble, Chroma Ensemble, Trilogy Ensemble, The Choir of Royal Holloway, and Ligeti Quartet, as well as in solo collaborations with Clare O’Connell, Carla Rees, and Simon Callaghan. His music features in concerts across the UK and overseas, including at the Lake District Music’s Spring Series, PLAY! Festival and as part of several showcase concerts during development schemes.

Matthew is also a conductor and is currently a digital marketing assistant for Alternative Classical, a website pioneering positive change in the classical music industry by producing and promoting new approaches to classical music.
